Who Cares about Rumors and Sources.... Let's talk Canes Football and Recruiting!

Title says it all! Who gives a rat's %$#@ about rumors and sources...

We have a coach! Real interesting hire! I fully support him. What's next? We have a bowl game against a HATED rival, a talented team returning, only 4 recruits, a new coaching staff to be hired and most of all... HOPE! Go Canes!!!

Thank you. We need to get back on topic which I believe is Canes football, no?

Golden was the top recruiter in the MAC and even stole recruits from Rutgers, Pitt, Penn State, Boston College, UConn, etc. I am really excited to see what he can do down here. He has had some SFL recruits come up to Temple. However, don't know how deep his ties are down here.

Looking forward to see how much of an impact he can have.

Well Golden will be here for this weekends recruiting visits and I have no idea who's coming, lol.

I suppose he'll watch Stoutland run the practices and get a look at the talent and how the coaches on staff do with the kids. Really, getting the staff together needs to be priority #1 and then identifying kids he wants to bring in to run his offense/defense would be priority #2. He's got a lot of work to do but we have time till NSD.

If Chickillo doesn't want to be part of the program, so be it. I want guys who want to be here.

He was a top recruiter for Al Groh and Virginia and the recruiting coordinator for Joe Pa at Penn State as well.

Chickillo will come. Once Golden gets out there and talks to him I'm sure he'll calm down a bit and get excited about Miami again.

    Agreed.

I expect a similar approach Randy took to recruiting in terms of character. I don't think we will see a lot of players with character issues. Golden was forced to bring in some very talented players with questionable characters. Those players were soon suspended or released very quickly. I think he will be satisfied with the amount of talent down here and will be able to root out the trouble makers.

Kids don't know him. I am not going to lose sleep if kids go elsewhere because they don't know the coach we hired. You don't know him then get to know him or head elsewhere. From all accounts the guy can recruit. Was the RC for Penn State. He is a fiery guy who is about discipline. His team has had the highest ranked recruiting classes in the MAC the last 3 years so obviously he does something right in that area.
