Funny thing is everyone was on the Morris train at the beginning of the year...saying how J12 wouldnt play and now that the seasons over you forget about Morris and jump to someone we still havent seen play....no one has put up one highlight yet....but everyone thinks its Williams....I say Morris and Williams will push...Morris + 2 offseasons with Fisch = starter ....

You're forgetting that Williams has been there the whole time Fisch has been there. Morris doesn't have any extra time with Fisch over Williams. The only advantage Morris may have is that he actually got to play this year in Fisch's offense...and he didn't look that great against Maryland which was one of the worst teams in the ACC when it was all said and done. Those two picks by Morris, especially the pick 6 at the end of the game when we were driving for the win, doesn't exactly give him the lead in this race. As a matter of fact I think that game really made the decision easier for the staff to switch to Jacory when he came off the suspension.

I feel what your saying and they both have been in the system but playing time at game speed compared to practice is a big difference... I'm not just saying Morris because I m a Morris fan I just dont want to have to wait 5 games for a guy to get adjusted to play D1 football again after sitting a yr. and only playing a couple of games at Memphis...its seems this staff really wants guys that can come in a play no training camp( during the season)...

Williams didn't play a couple of games at Memphis, he started 10 and played in all 12 as a true freshman. He's been practicing all year with the team, essentially no difference from a redshirt or 3rd string QB. So a guy like Andrew Luck who was redshirted and then became a starter is no different, in terms of sitting for a year, as Ryan Williams.

I think Morris's athleticism, knowledge and experience will win out in a close one. They both have similar experience but ACC comp > Conf USA comp. IMO

Ryan Williams was really impressive as a true frosh at Memphis but Morris isnt going to bow down and give it to Williams. I think spring ball is going to be really fun to watch and maybe a starting QB wont be named till August, although I think its better if we can name a starting QB after the spring game.

So what your saying is that players that go to Memphis are the same as players at the U or even players on the practice squad .....they were 1-10 the season that he played ....his TD to INT ration wasnt good at all 13TD- 10INT yea he threw for over 2000 but still .....that conference isnt the same as playing in the ACC.....yea he lead his highschool to state..so what J12 did it two years in a row and only lost 1 game .....my point is dont put all the eggs in the pan until we know how hot the stove is gonna be....and I m still waitng on film on him....Im not hating on him I hope he is good, I just dont want him to take 3-5 games to get in the swing of things...and he isnt Andrew Luck so that comparisons isnt a good one ....lets just wait and see...

Williams. If Dewey and/or Crow pan out, maybe time for a position change for Morris to get his athleticism on the field. I suspect Morris does not have the instinct to be successful at this level. He could not beat out Harris, a mediocre QB. I'll take Williams limited success at Memphis over Morris' limited success at Miami. If Williams does not beat out Morris, it may be another long year at that position for Miami. There is always the possibility that Morris will undergo some immaculate transformation during the off season, but it may not be so wide open. Hopefully, Williams becomes the next Ryan Mallet, who switched schools after a new system was installed by Rodriguez at Michigan. Similar situation.
