    Peterson Discussion Thread

We forgot to add Peterson to our discusson threads.

Let me start off by pasting a thread by another poster. He makes good points that now might be the time for Peterson to pull the trigger if offered.

QUOTE: Boise leaves the WAC for the Mountain West. A non AQ (automatic qualifier) for another AQ thinking that atleast the competition would be better. Uups, BYU leaves to be independant, Utah leaves for the Pac 10, and now TCU leaves for the Big East. That leaves Boise as the odd man out for an AQ bid. A lot of seniors are leaving. If Peterson wants to step it up, maybe he gets tired of beating up on crappy teams and with the right amount of cash, pulls the trigger.

He's a heck of a coach but I wonder how he would fit in a big city like Miami.

That doesn't mean he'll be happy and want to stay here. I also don't know how he'll relate to the kids here. The guy was born and grew up in Yuba City, California. Total population 60,360. Went to UC Davis in Yolo County, California. Total population 64,938.

Wow, I didn't know that about him... I was born in Yuba City and went to UC Davis as well!! As far as him relating to the kids I don't know, but speaking for myself I was exposed to people from all walks of life..although a great coach, he has to do what's best for himself and family and I respect that.

Minnesota is also looking at Montreal Alouettes Coach Marc Trestman that played quarterback for the University of Minnesota for three seasons. Trestman entered football coaching at the University of Miami in 1981 after getting a law degree at Miami as a volunteer coach. In 1983 he was named quarterbacks coach. That year quarterback Bernie Kosar passed for 2,329 yards and Miami won the national championship. Trestman has been Ast coach on 9 NFL teams before getting his first HC job in the CFL.
