Urban Meyer Recruiting Problems
Urban Meyer, aka Urban Liar, proposes to the NCAA that Unofficial Visits be paid for by the Universities.
Already, the NCAA allows for five official visits to occur, but if a potential recruit wants to make an Unofficial Visit, he's gotta do so on his own dime.
It would appear that Urban's having problems getting State of Florida players to come to Ohio State to have a look, as the trending indicates that most college football players tend to stay closer to home with all the advantages that close proximity entails.
You'll note that when at Florida, Urban never brought this up - and was perfectly happy with breaking the rules as they existed.
Most Florida kids automatically want to visit UM, FSU, UF, and that leaves two other visits potentially. Sounds like Urban is being cut out of the picture right now between the Florida schools and the SEC teams.

Can't stand Urban "The Weasel" Meyer. Its so funny on the ESPN boards that OSU fans believe he is good disciplinarian and everybody is hating on OSU.

I think he's right. Universities should be able to pay for a select number of kids to come visit, especially if their school is built from the stalks of corn & their mascot is a nut with arms & legs.
What's that? That's exactly what an official visit is???
Well then, Urb--

Enjoy recruiting the Great Lakes.
Rest in Peace, theu75.

Shows Urban Meyer isn't that bright. He should've been well aware of the state of affairs in Florida. Having to recruit against the U and Free Shoe University, he should be well aware of what each school brings and every kid who grew up in that state to want to play in one of the three universities. Did he really think that after kids were done with their 3 visits that OSU would be next on the list? He should've seen the powerhouse that has become Alabama as well as LSU. Let's also not forget alot of recruits go out to Oregon and USC. Urban will not win a title again.

Maybe there is more to the issue than I am aware of. Having said that, I see no reason official visits should be capped. If a school is willing to have you then you should be able to check them out and make a more informed decision.
I also don't think Urban was ignorant to the issues of recruiting out of state talent. I also don't blame urban for trying to get any edge he can, that is what competitors do.
