NCAA Honors UM Football Team as Academic Overachievers
The UM football team has been honored for its outstanding Academic Progress Rate spanning several years. Kudos to Donna, Randy and the kids. Let us hope this type of success continues under Coach Golden. I think it will. These excellent APR stats are related to, but separate from, the Graduation Success Rate (GSR). In 2011, UM had a GSR of 88%, tied for 8th in the nation.
The first of the two articles that follow discusses the NCAA's designation of our football team among a group of 13 "Academic Overachievers." The second article recounts our recent history of outstanding annual APRs in a number of sports.
