Back to the original subject...
McGee has moved ahead of Finnie on the depth chart. It's now McGee and Nicolas. Glad to see McGee is pushing himself.

Ryan Hill was finally at a position he was comfortable at.
He played Corner for Rickards in Highschool. He was bounced from Receiver to Safety and back to corner in college. Only downside to Hill at corner was him NEVER making a play on the ball or getting his head turned in time. Got worse as the season progressed, as did a majority of the defensive unit. Last year was NOT Ryan's first go at Corner. Just the first year they used him where they wanted him to play.

I'm not so sure. He got beat a lot, yes, but I wouldn't say he was torched. He was in position most of the time, but had horrible closing skills on the ball, which is why he only had 2 PBUs all year. Word is that Williams is working with McGee on his closing technique and attacking the ball, which is all he needs to be great. He has a much better backpedal and transition game than DVD already, and is just about as fast.

Based on what's posted on several of their twitter accounts McGee is the third fastest on the team. At least of those who run track for Miami. Travis Benjamin and Lamar Miller are apparently the only two that have proven themselves faster than him on a legit scale.
Hopefully all that speed McGee has is put to good use. There were too many times he was caught on camera getting embarassed..
Here's to hoping for a good secondary this year.

Any examples? Nothing really stands out specifically to me... then again, all I can think about is the horrible tackling and collapses as a whole defensive unit.

I know Benniev... He was a top ranked corner just like DVD except he only played 1 year at corner and did fairly well... My argument is that its crazy to blame Shannon for DVD... I mean we had 2 first time corners and they did better than DVD and lets not forget about Harris who improved as well... As for the development issue I just think our players were overrated recruits coming out... I mean its not like we had some pro bowlers the last couple of years(the last 4 classes of draftees)...
That being said I hope McGee is really doing something... He wasnt much of a ball player in high school and if he's making noise that speaks volumes of this staff...

Honestly it's not that he's making noise..
He just took what one would consider to be a "starting job" albeit in spring practice from an unproven true freshman that likely had no business with it anyway.
Take that for what it's worth.
Finnie was good in highschool, but this is an entirely different animal.
