UM Recruiting Notes 8/21
--One of Louisiana’s top 2013 prospects, Kendell Beckwith, is considering several colleges including Miami. Right now, it is an Alabama-LSU battle with Miami on the outside looking in. Beckwith plays defensive end and quarterback for Jackson (La.) East Feleciana High School. He’s 6’3, 228-pounds and ranked as a four star athlete.
--Safety Hunter Dale (6’0/175) picked up offers from Ole Miss and Florida recently. It should not be a surprise if the 2015 prospect receives an offer from Miami no later than next spring with the way that the Canes have been recruiting Louisiana. He plays for national high school powerhouse John Curtis, a team that has won 24 state championships.
--A coach from Miramar (Fla.) High School confirmed that 2013 LB Jermaine Grace does have a committable offer from Miami and was surprised by the thought of it being any other way. The Canes are recruiting Grace heavily, and not for a mute point.
--OL Joshua Outlaw (6’4/290) decommitted from the University of Florida, but it’s still unclear if the coaching staff will pursue him as he’s never shown much interest in The U. It seems like the Lithonia (Ga.) Martin Luther King High product is focusing on the SEC for the time being.
--Another Florida decommitment is Roderick Johnson (6'6/315) from Delray Beach (Fla.) American Heritage. This came shortly after the resignation of his recruiting coach Aubrey Hill. He hasn't received an offer from the Canes despite having interest early on in his recruitment and growing up a Miami fan. Some of his interests include South Carolina, Auburn and Florida State.
