--The Rising Senior Day served more of a team building exercise among current commits than a persuasion tactic. The two biggest uncommitted recruits that took part were University School’s DT Marquedius Bain and WR Jordan Cunningham.
--DT commit Keith Bryant (6’2/200) is seemingly frustrated about people always asking about his visits to other colleges. He will, however, be taking all five officials and since UM is close, they will not be one of them. The Atlantic Delray star named South Carolina, USC, Florida State and Oklahoma as colleges recruiting him hard.
--Good news was received today that 2015 RB Jacques Patrick plans on visiting Miami this Saturday with his brother and fellow teammate Javonte Seabury (2013). The 6’2, 200-pound back is keeping his options open. Currently the Timber Creek HS product holds offers from Auburn, Alabama, Miami, Arizona, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Vanderbilt and UCF.
--The first Miami commitment of the 2013 class, Levonte Whitfield (Jones HS), committed to FSU today. The Canes backed off recruiting him, similar to 2012 LB Keith Brown who eventually ended up at Louisville, and it opened doors for other programs to come in such as FSU and Ohio State. Speculation: That could have been a strategic move by the coaching staff as they know they have limited numbers this year.
--Miami was recruiting slot WR Brisly Estime during the summer but told him they will see what he does during the season before they offer. The teammate of Miami D-Tackle commit Keith Bryant, Estime will commit if he receives a Miami offer and with Levonte Whitfield committing to FSU this morning, there might be an opening down the road.
