Miami’s Senior Day is tomorrow and several uncommitted prospects will be in attendance including DT Marquedius Bain (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. University School) and LB Jermiane Grace (Miramar, Fla.) who are both favoring the Canes. CaneInsider reached out to two Louisiana natives to confirm that will not be in attendance, DE Tim Williams and TE Standish Dobard, respectively. More to come on Senior Day tomorrow.
--Alabama cornerback ex-commit Travell Dixon decided to look elsewhere for college. He wants to be closer to home which would definitely bode well for the Canes if they wanted to grab up a veteran player in the secondary. The 6’2, 200-pound prospect will be looking to make a quick decision since the season is here.
--Levonte “Kermit” Whitfield (Orlando, Fla. Jones) will be announcing his decision this Monday morning at 10: 00 am. He was Miami’s first commitment for the 2013 class and after seeing others go through the recruiting process, decided to open things back up. Last time CaneInsider.com spoke with him, he hadn't been in contact with the UM coaching staff in a while. He also tweeted his official scholarship letter from FSU. It was a clear cut UM-FSU battle at first, but the lack of recruitment by the Canes has helped guide his path towards other programs. The fact is Miami took a lot of receivers last year and are preparing for upcoming sanctions. Ohio State is another player in the hunt for his services. His final four are Ohio State, FSU, UM and Clemson.
--2013 defensive end Tim Williams (Baton Rouge, La. University School) was supposed to make it down to Coral Gables, Florida this weekend for Senior Day. Due to the costs of travel, he will not attend. CaneInsider.com spoke with Williams (6’4/230) in June where he named Miami as his leader and that they are his “dream school.” We have all heard that term before, however Williams expressed that he knows people say it just to say it, but he means it.

--Booker T. LB Matthew Thomas (6’3/200) was spotted at Florida State’s practice today. It’s safe to say he might not make the journey back down to UM for Senior Day.
--University School (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) DB Quincy Wilson will be attending the scrimmage at Miami tomorrow. The 6'2, 185-pound corner has UM pedigree and is hunting for an offer.
