Commits:
TE Brandon Holifield, 6-6, 215, Tallahassee (Fla.) Godby—This could be a visit that goes either way for this athlete. Reports are that he will be making his decision on signing day, but remains committed.
ATH Angelo Jean-Louis, 6-0, 185, Wellington (Fla.) Palm Beach Central--Solid commit who, if qualified, will get some early playing time in Miami. Nothing new as far as recruiting, he loves the 'Canes and can't wait to get on campus.
Prospects:
DE Leonard Williams, 6-5, 270, Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland—The last official visit for this talented prospect, the ‘Canes are still on the outer rim of his recruiting circle. He didn’t show much interest in Miami the entire process and it will be unlikely he ends up there.
DB Tracy Howard, 5-11, 175, Miramar (Fla.) –Another prospect who has not been in Miami’s corner for the entire recruiting process is Howard. It used to be that he wanted to get out of Miami, but very recently he has had a change of heart. While an official visit seems to be big for a recruit, he lives locally and has been to Miami many times. In fact, he went last weekend with teammate and UM commit Malcolm Lewis. So, this visit will not be the difference-maker as he knows everything Miami has to offer. It is more about Howard liking what the coaching staff tells him. It is down between Florida, Miami and Florida State at this point.
CB Antonio Crawford, 5-11, 175, Tampa (Fla.) Plant (committed to Geo. Tech)—A talented athlete who has a real chance of becoming a ‘Cane. He grew up a Miami fan and now will have a chance to play there. Miami could really use a player like this.
ATH Josh Harvey-Clemmons, 6-5, 208, Valdosta (Ga.) Lowndes—By default he will be visiting the ‘Canes according to sources. He had a visit set up with Louisville, but it looks like that Miami will get it instead. Many believe this is nothing more than a free trip. With that being said, the coaches have their work cut out for them on this one.
DE Darius Hamilton, 6-4, 250 and WR Leonte Carroo, 6-1, 205, Ramsey (NJ) Don Bosco Prep—Rutgers lost their coach, Greg Schiano, days before NSD to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and like most coaching changes, it will open up doors for other schools to come in and pick up the pieces. Carroo is currently committed to Rutgers and holds an offer from UM. Hamilton was once a Rutgers lean, but now is unsure. He also holds offers by many colleges including Miami. We will see where these two stand after their officials to Miami.
