Rashard Robinson, a four star cornerback from Pompano Beach (Fla.) Blanche Ely, thought he had a solid top five. That was until he had a scholarship winning performance at the Al Golden Football Camp and the University of Miami informed him later that week that he had indeed earned an offer. The ‘Canes instantly jumped up into his list of college choices and now, he doesn’t have a clear order.
“Right now, a lot of stuff has changed, I don’t have an order anymore,” Robinson said of his former top five that included LSU, Florida State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Syracuse.
He continued.
“All of them are neck-and-neck right now. We will see in the next couple of months.”
During the final Al Golden Football Camp, which took place last Saturday, he performed well in every aspect.
“I had a pretty good performance at the camp,” Robinson said. “I haven’t been getting much rest because of the camps and practices. I was sore at the Miami camp.”
Miami running backs coach Terry Richardson has developed a bond with the 6’2, 165-pound corner. “Well, he is a great coach,” Robinson said of Richardson. “We have grown a great relationship.”
Robinson knows Miami running back Duke Johnson, cornerback Tracy Howard and safety Deon Bush. He is also familiar with his hometown team.
“It’s a program on the rise right now,” Robinson said. “They have great defensive backs and coach. They have a great defense, great town and city.”
