A recruit with tons of potential, D’Angelo Reynolds has been getting ready for his senior season of football at Miami (Fla.) Northwestern High School.
“Everything has been going good,” Reynolds said about his season. “Just getting back in and learning the system."
Recruiting is another aspect of football that is going well for the 6’5, 235-pound defensive end.
“Still the same, everyone is coming hard now,” Reynolds said. Florida State, South Carolina and Ohio State are still at the top of his list but he has been talking with Miami recently.
“I have,” Reynolds said when asked if he has talked with the UM coaching staff lately. “ They let me know everything is a process and they are taking their time and evaluating me."
Miami linebackers coach Michael Barrow, who Reynolds refers to as Coach Hazlewood, is the one recruiting the 2013 talent.
“He is an awesome guy,” Reynolds said of Coach Barrow. “I feel playing for him you have to be real dedicated to the game.”
He recently tested his 40-yard dash, vertical jump and short shuttle at this high school.
“Our school had Fast Twitch Performance come out and test us,” Reynolds said. “I ran a 4.58s (40), 38.7-inch vertical and a 4.2 in the short shuttle.”
There are a few college games that Reynolds plans on attending during the season including Miami versus Florida State and Ohio State versus Michigan. His decision will likely come early in the season.
“I will be making my decision by the second or third game,” Reynolds said. “[I’m looking for] a family atmosphere and everyone be willing to work with me.”
