Westminster Christian High School, located in Miami, Florida, has a lot of young talent on their team including 2015 standout Timothy Irvin.
“I play running back, receiver, safety and cornerback,” Irvin said. So far, the 5’10 and 180-pound athlete is keeping his options open when it comes to recruiting.
“I don’t have a set college, I am really open right now,” Irvin said. “I have offers from Florida State, Alabama, Miami is talking to me and UF offered me when I went to their camp.”
The nephew of Miami Hurricanes legend Michael Irvin talked more about the schools showing him interest.
FSU—"They are a good college. They showed me a lot of things I liked but I am real open right now. That’s a real good school."
Alabama—"They offered me at safety. They are a good school. They have been winning national championships. They have a good program. Coach Nick Saban is a very strict coach. He knows what he is doing and I really like him."
UM—"That’s my home town. My uncles went there and I love them. When I went to the camp, they showed me love."
UF—"They offered me at DB. That school is pretty nice but I don’t think I like it like that. That’s a good program. They area building it along, they lost a lot of players."
At the Al Golden Football Camp, which took place earlier in the summer, he was at “DB and receiver.” The Miami coaches like him at defensive back.
“Coach (Paul) Williams, he likes me a lot," Irvin said. "He came down to the school and everything. He is a great coach. If you want to learn and be the best at what you want to do at DB, I think you should stay at UM with the great talent they got like (Deon) Bush and Tracy Howard. They are going to have a good season this year. I know Bush, we work out together. Me, him and Denzel Perryman.”
For the remainder of the summer, he will be “working in the weight room” and “might go to FSU’s camp.”
