At the IMG Academy National 7-on-7 tournament, several players stood out like Woodville (Miss.) Wilkinson County High School athlete Devin Voorhies. He is being recruited at wide receiver, but is playing quarterback to help out his team.
I love receiver, I just have to play quarterback because our quarterback got hurt, Voorhies said. I am physical and fast as a receiver. I play outside, X and Z. I had 800 rushing and 1,000 passing.
The 62, 180-pound 2014 prospect, who grew up a college football fan without any favorites, already holds two major offers and is on the verge of more.
LSU and Mississippi State offered me, Voorhies said. USM, Vanderbilt, Southern and Alabama are starting to show interest.
The University of Miami is another college that he is interested in hearing from.
I heard they got a good program, Voorhies said of the Canes. If they come at me I will be interested.
Training, playing style and graduation rate are the three most important things he is looking for in a college. The way they work out, how they play and how they do in grades (wise).
