The season is here and Orlando (Fla.) Timber Creek High School kicker Christian Pereira (6'2/185) likes the way his team is shaping up.
“We are actually doing pretty good,” Pereira said reflecting on the scrimmage that took place last night. “We are starting our conditioning season. I think we will go pretty far this season. Everybody is coming closer together.”
Over the summer, the 2014 prospect camped at several colleges including Miami.
“I went to the Miami camp,” Pereira said. “It poured like crazy. It was kind of a little competition. We managed the best we could because the ball kept getting water logged. Overall the camp was good and I learned a lot. I mean I learned a lot of mechanics.”
Upon leaving the camp, he said a few words to Miami head coach Al Golden.“I talked to Coach Golden for a second to say bye and thank him for having me at the camp.”
He went on to describe his interest in Miami.
“Miami, just the atmosphere, how the crowd pumps you up and everything there inspires you to do what you have to do on the field,” Pereira said.
Although UM is still his favorite, he’s keeping his options open.
“I am still high on Miami, but anywhere I can succeed and get a D-1 scholarship,” Pereira said. “I got a couple letters from Miami, Duke, and punting requirements for Oregon and Wisconsin.”
