TaJarvis Fuller, 6-foot-1 and 185, committed to Illinois recently and caught up with Caneinsider.com to explain his decision.
“Everything was real good when I went up there,” he explained. “The business program was real good. The coaches really liked me and I enjoyed my time while I was up there. Everyone showed me a good time. I just felt like that was the place for me. I enjoyed myself.”
So how solid is his commitment?
“I am committed, I am Illinois all the way, but my mind is still open.”
“I am still taking my five official visits,” he added. “I am not really sure right now, but I am thinking Illinois, Florida, Miami, UCF, Iowa State and Indiana. It will be out of those six.”
His official visit to the 'Canes will not be the first time Fuller steps on UM's campus. He talked about the time he has already spent in Coral Gables.
“Miami, when I went down there, the coaches showed me a good time and everything was good. I enjoyed myself. I remember they have a really good business program. Everything was real good.”
Being a Hurricanes fan since the '90s, he will have trouble ignoring an offer if it comes his way.
“I have been a Miami fan since back in the day, in the ‘90s. You can’t get over your favorite team.”
Miami has shown a lot of interest in the 2012 safety, but they couldn’t decide where to play him at and decided to wait until the fall.
“They did not offer. They were just really interested. They were trying to figure out which position they wanted me to play me at, outside linebacker or strong safety. They are waiting until fall, so my mind is still open.”
