Tyler English is a big O-lineman out of Louisville, Kentucky. English, 6-foot-4 and 275, has been prepping for summer camps this spring. He says that once he goes to the camps, he is confident that schools will offer him.
“Probably just go to a lot of camps. This coming up weekend I am going to Utah. Next weekend I am going Indiana and Cincinnati. Then Illinois, U of L, West Virginia, North Carolina State, Eastern Michigan and Auburn.”
Many schools are showing interest in him, including hometown team Louisville, UK and Utah.
“I would probably say UK, U of L and Utah are showing me the most interest. Utah said they are probably going to offer me when I go to their camp. UK and U of L are obviously close and I like their coaching staff. Utah, I really like O-line coach there.”
The University of Louisville was his favorite team growing up, but that will not be a factor in his decision.
“Probably U of L just because that is where I live. That isn’t going to have anything to do with where I go. I am going to go where I have the best chance to play and where the best coaching staff is.”
He continued, “The first thing I would look at is the O-line coach and the coaching staff in general. Basically all the division 1 colleges are going to have the same facilities, so they are all going to be pretty good. So, the difference for me is going to be the coaching staff.”
Not only will location not be a factor, but he is versatile when it comes to which position he ends up at.
“I play guard and tackle. I can play any position.”
English claims a 3.0 core GPA.
"I am really good with my footwork. I have quick feet and I am good on pass blocking. I would probably work more on my hand placement and stuff. I am pretty strong compared to a lot of other offensive lineman."
