Tyler Cogswell is the quarterback for the 7-on-7 team, The Fire. He was at the IMG tournament when CaneInsider.com had a chance to catch up with him and discuss the latest. The pro-style quarterback from Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage is starting to pick up steam in the recruiting world. Here is what he had to say.
“I have three offers from Central Michigan, Hawaii and Nebraska,” Cogswell said. “I am talking heavily to Arkansas, Tennessee and West Virginia as well.”
For the spring, he will continue to sharpen his skills at the QB position. The summer will be for actively going to camps and visiting schools. “Spring I plan to stay here and practice, get better every day. Summer, I plan to visit a few camps, but I am not sure (which ones).”
The 6-foot-5 and 225-pound QB was very productive last season. “I threw for 23 touchdowns and ran for 3 touchdowns. I threw for about 1850 yards.” Next season, he has only one thing on his mind. “Goal for the upcoming season is to win a state championship. That is all I have on my mind. We have great players, we are well rounded.”
While he is interested in any college who wants to talk to him, he is looking for certain things at the next level.
“I am looking for academics mainly,” said Cogswell. “Then the campus lifestyle. Somewhere I would like to be for four years and be comfortable there.”
