2014 RB Dalvin Cook Update: Solid to Florida?

Both doubt and certainty are as contagious as the common cold, so naturally, 5 – star RB Dalvin Cook gets bombarded with questions about his commitment to Florida regularly. Cook’s good friend and 5 – star RB teammate, Joseph Yearby, committed to Miami on February 26th leaving wishful thinking Hurricane fans hoping they could take their rushing chemistry from Miami Central High to the University of Miami.  Both Cook and Yearby impressively rushed for a combination of 2, 899 yards with 42 TDs between them last season, solidifying them as the “Freddy Kruger and Jason” running back tandem to opposing defenses.

With the hometown connection of teammate Joseph Yearby committing to “The U” along with Hurricane basketball incoming freshman point guard and Cook’s half brother Deandre Burnett already being at Miami, it’s understandable that he was looking to make a football decision based on where he thought he could excel, personally.

Quickly enough, he was bluntly asked:  Why not Miami? Why Florida?

Cook replied: ”When I went to visit Florida. I just felt comfortable all the way all around. The coaching staff. The atmosphere. The facilities. Everything.”

CaneInsider then asked: What are the chances of getting you to decommit, honestly? He chuckled and soon answered, “I’m pretty solid on my commitment to Florida.”

While a lot people are focused on his commitment to Florida, and whether not it is solid, Cook is more so focused on Dwyer.

Miami Central faces off with Dwyer to start the season of Palm Beach Gardens on August 23rd at 7:30 p.m..  Cook admitted that first on his “to-do list” this season is to go out winning another state championship. Considering, Central is loaded with returning talent , it’s something that’s definitely doable.
